It's out with the old and in with the new...

Hola chickens :)

About a month ago, I was a walking advert for The Collection 2000 16-hour wear foundation and concealer and the shine away pressed powder. I was telling people that they were good quality and great value, and should go out straight away to buy them.

So it turns out I may have been wrong..

I suffer from really bad combination skin, which is really oily making it acne prone, but at the same dry and tight feeling. And I'm also super-duper sensitive to just about everything and prone to reacting to most products. And it really does suck. I'm always so envious of my friends who can just leave the house with no face make up on and feel confident. When I have to put on concealer to cover blemishes, foundation to even out my skin tone and then powder so that I'm not attracting magpies all day because I'm so shiny.
So when I found the foundation, concealer and powder combo from Collection 2000 (a brand I normally trust because it's mascaras and eyeshadows are actually really good) for a cheap price, I thought it was a win-win situation, the foundation even claims to be oil-free which is a bonus. But as I've been using the trio, my skin has been getting progressively worse and worse, so it's time for..
..out with the old and in with the new.. :)

^^there's the old...

♥ ♥ ♥

and here's the new!

Miss Sporty is a brand that I rarely give a second thought, I have a crazy purple lipstick from there and that's it. But when I was in Superdrug this afternoon I spotted the golden words '4 Anti-spot actions', 'Anti-Bacterial' and 'Dermatologically tested for young skin' - I have to say I was chuffed with my find :).
So my lovely mummy, who could see I was very sad about my bad skin, offered to buy me the lovely new trio so that I could try them out and see if my skin was going to improve.
So that's what I shall do.

All three products claim to:
♥ Absorb excess oil from the skin
♥ Clarify skin and minimize spot breakout and blemishes
♥ Moisture skin thanks to emollient agents
♥ and Help control shine

If the products really do all those lovely things then pretty soon I will be a happy chappy :)

So far I have just tried out the foundation on my hand and it feels really lights and blends really nicely, and it also has a light clean scent which is fresh and pretty :).

These products were very cheap, the foundation and powder being £2.99 and the concealer stick only £1.99. But I feel like I trust what they are saying on the packet and if they do what it says on the tin, then money really is no object.

I will be trying my new purchases out over the course of the next few weeks and will let you know how it goes :).

Has anyone else had problemos with the collection 2000 products?
Or has good or bad things to say about the Miss Sporty ones too?

Au revoir for now.
lotsa love

a thoroughly english day out..

Bonjour mes amis :)

Yesterday I enjoyed a lovely winters day shopping and coffee shop-ing with my beautiful friend Hebe in Bath.
The air was frosty so I wrapped up warm, channelling my inner animal and donning my leopard print scarf. And I also wore my lovely new Urban Outfitter boots which I talked about a couple of posts ago and they were just a pleasure to spend the day in: warm, comfy and oh-so stylish.

After perusing the clothing selection in a few shops and drooling over the gorgeous choice of high heels and aviator jackets for a couple of hours we hopped, skipped and jumped to a cute little café where, being the fatty that I am, I enjoyed a bowl of pommes frites :).

I am absolutely loving taking photographs at the moment, catching beautiful candid moments and a special point in time in a split second with just one click of a shutter :) ...

[the two photos of me and my chips were taken by hebe]

mmm, those chips were so delicious :)

How cool is that vintage bike! I just need one of those so that I can pretend I drive it :)

On a trip to Topshop I found a gorgeous, chunky floral cardigan in the sale, reduced from 45 pounds to 20 :). I love how warm and cuddly it feels and the big pink flowers on it are just so pretty.
So unable to resist, I put my new purchase on and gallivanted around the streets just waiting for the compliments ...  hehe, just kidding ;).

Cue posy pictures ;)

After a hard day of shopping and posing for photos the best thing to come home to is a slice of vanilla cheesecake and a cup of jasmine tea :).
So that's what we did.

And yes, I do rather enjoy leafing through the pages of Nigella's cookery books :) hehe.

and finally, a naughty slice of cake before bed, because, you're only young once ;)

it's a healthy obsession, i promise..

Shoes are fast becoming my biggest love and I spend, and I ashamed to admit it, too much time venturing around clothing stores sites on the internet lusting after them, forever 'adding to my basket' (when I know I'm never really going to 'proceed to checkout') or 'put on my wishlist' or just stare longingly at their picture, imaging myself strutting down in the street in them.

So, I thought I would find four, yes just four, pairs - one from each of my favourite shops and start to save up for them, one pound by shiny pound at a time :)

Peeptoe leather laceup heels / New Look / 25.00
I love these, the wooden heel is so cute and these would be fab to wear shopping (as if I'm actually daring enough to do that). I am really loving boot/heel styles and these are so perfect for autumn and winter. And not a bad price... hmm. Daddy?

Wedge heel leather style boot / H&M / 29.99
Urmmm yes please. I just bought a pair of boots very similar to this, but they are flat. These are just perfect for the days when I want to be taller and am feeling daring.
And they're in brown and grey. My two favourite colours! Is that a good enough excuse? ;)

Suede lace-up ankle boot / Urban Outfitters / reduced from 60 to 40
I think these are my favourite of the four :). The colour is beautiful and just everything about them is cool and sophisticated and oozes style. More saving involved for these lovelies though.

TINSEL glitter hi tops / Topshop / $50 (which coverts to £30 although I'm not sure that's the UK price)
You may not know this but I absolutely love to dance. It's one of my biggest passions and just makes me happy. So when I saw these really cute hi tops I just died. I dance hip-hop and these just scream out street style, AND they're glittery - i mean, wow?!
Want, want, want.
Oh, and did I mention - they're glittery?!

Which of these gorgeous pairs of heaven do you like the best?
And does anyone else have an obsession with shoes?

lotsa love

hot chocolate, vanilla candles & a stylish splurge..

Good evening dolls...

I am feeling good tonight.

J'adore the fact that rather than being out in the rain in some park pretending to be 'cool', I'm chilling at home with a steaming hot chocolate in hand, enjoying some good old british telly - this truly is the life.. :)

Today I went out for some shopping armed with my tatty umbrella and came back with some very special boots.

They were a teensy bit of a splurge at 38 squidilidinks, but I am sure that they will be a staple for my winter wardrobe.
They are warm, cuddly, comfy and a cute mix between brogues and man boots - perfect :)

They were from Urban Outfitters, which is fast becoming my favourite clothes shop - full of really quirky knits and pretty homewares.

Here are the little pretties..

Voila!

I hope everyone is having a warm, cosy, chocolate filled evening :)

Friday, October 22

really, Cheryl?

Hola chicas!
So I have been absent from blogger these past few weeks because of coursework at school and then the spanish exchange. But I have now returned from the trip (which was the best time ever) and am off from school for a little bit - so I will have lots of time to blog :)

But down to business.

When it comes to the nations sweetheart, the beautiful Chezza Cole, it rarely goes wrong. Her hair is always perfectly highlighted and voluptuously volumised. Her make-up neat and pretty. And her style kooky and cool.
But sadly, she has made a big mistake...

she has died her hair henna red...

Now, I have nothing against red hair. I even used to have it myself, in fact a shade very similar to the one Chezza is sporting now. But I just don't think that the bright red tone suits her.

Her are some pictures of the new barnet:

Granted, she is still stunning. I mean, she could probably shave her head and still look good, but I really do prefer her hair in the chocolately brown shade that she has sported for so long.

So, rant over.
What does everyone think about the Geordie lass' new do?
Let me know!

lots of love

Baggy is beautiful ♥

Ciao ♥
As I write this post I am in complete shock that the gorgeous Italian Nicolo has been voted off the X Factor. He was the only reason I was turning up to Italian lessons at school...

Anyway

Today, I went shopping with my lovely mother and she bought me three lovely items for my trip to Spain on Thursday :)
Really, I didn't have a Mediterranean trip in mind when I chose my three items, and instead had my A/W hat screwed on and wanted to find a few things that could jazz up my wardrobe for the season.

I am in love with loose, casual knitwear at the moment, and this gorgeous jumper caught my eye.
It has gathering at the front which also looks great when you wear it back to front and it just feels so comfy and warm and snuggly. Ahh.

Stripy jumper/H&M/9.99

I also bought these cute lacy tights, I love delicate lace patterns and teemed them here with my go-to Zara ankle boots.

Lace tights/H&M/6.99

The third item I bought was a cute little nude coloured bag - I may do another post on that beauty some time in the near future... :)

I am wearing a blue body con skirt from, yes again, H&M :) and underneath a grey-blue vest which I believe was from good ol' marks and sparks.

♥ ♥ ♥

Has anyone else been stocking up on baggy beauties for comfort?
Hope your weekend was dinga-linging :)

A Grand Day Out :)

Hey dolls!
I've been a bit absent from blogger this week but I bought some lovely things today and I thought I'd give you a looksee :)
I went into town with some lovely friends and had a real giggle :) and the day was especially lovely because I visited a certain favourite shop: MAC!
I have been wanting to get a lot of things from there but I thought a couple of things would keep me ticking over for a little while. So after browsing the new Venomous Villains range (which is so so cool) I went over to the old faves.
So, here's what I splurged for...

Oh, and THE best thing happened today :D
I was chillin' in the street with my lovely girlies listening to some guys busking when two pretty funky looking peeps rode past on bikes with bags filled with glasses! They were promoting the new Urban Outfitters store that is opening in Bath and were giving away the glasses for...FREE! So, I dug around in the bag and pulled out the pair covered in the most flowers, teehe...
It was an offer I just simply couldn't refuse - so that's the glasses in the picture above ♥ pretty bloomin' funky don't ya think?

I have wanted this for such a long time! I love a good nude lip :) so this is perfect.
Love love love.
M.A.C. cremesheen lipstick in Myth/£12.50

I have a very very very ridiculous amount of blushes and I would probably say that I am even more obsessed with them than I am with lipsticks. And that's really saying something...
I haven't had a MAC blush before and I thought it would be a good idea to add one to my collection and since ninety five percent of my blushes are powder, I went for a cream one.
This a lovely rosy pink with a mauve tone to it :) It's a colour that I don't really have and I can't wait to start using it. It's crazy how pigmented this is, so worth the hefty pricetag methinks.
M.A.C. cream blush in Brit Wit/£16.50

Swatches of the lipstick and blush :)

I don't think it's actually humanely possible for me to go out shopping and not buy a Barry M nail paint - I am obsessed with them! And I don't think I'll rest until I have the whole collection...
So today I got the lovely navy one, with really pretty baby blue reflexes in it. I think this will be a definite staple for A/W.
Barry M nail paint in Navy/£2.95/Boots

So, that's my little haul for now :)

I hope you liked and I would love some comments :)
Also, I would love to hear some tips for starting a MAC collection and if you think there are any MAC must haves that I should purchase?

Hope you're having a lovely weekend ♥

lots of love
